What a weekend of basketball from your NBL1 South Sandringham Sabres mens team! The boys made the journey out to The Geelong Arena on Friday night and came away with a big win (82 v 92) to commence the ANZAC round weekend. Dane Pineau was awarded the ANZAC medal finishing the game with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
The NBL1 Anzac spirit is best described as someone who displays the qualities including endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour and mateship.
The boys then backed it up at the Sabre-Dome on Saturday night in the “Game of the week” match against Waverley Falcons. Sabres Men again got the job done, finishing off the weekend singing the song with pride (97 v 87)
Campbell Blogg was awarded the Anzac medal of the match ending the game with 15 points and 4 rebounds.
