MASK UPDATE 26.3.21

As per the Victorian Government rules coming into effect on Friday March 26th at 6pm, Basketball Victoria and the SBA are pleased to announce an update to mask.

All is effective as of 6pm on Friday March 26th, 2021

Masks

Masks will no longer be required in retail settings but Victorians will still need to carry one with them at all times and wear it on public transport, in rideshare vehicles and taxis and in sensitive settings such as aged care facilities and hospitals. Basketball Victoria recommends – when social distancing cannot be maintained, that all patrons aged 12 years or older, should wear a mask in venues unless medically exempt.

As with previous updates, masks are not required during games for players, referees and coaches while on court.

QR Codes

Electronic record keeping such as QR codes must be used to allow for contact tracing to be updated. The QR code requirement for community sport, is to have electronic record keeping through the Services Vic application or a government API-linked digital system. Venues will have a 28-day compliance amnesty to ensure this is the case.

RETURN TO SPORT REACTIVATION STATUS – From Friday 25 March at 6pm
