Today we celebrate an incredible legacy. After 51 years of involvement with Southern Basketball, we say a heartfelt thank you to Lou as she heads into retirement.
Lou’s journey with Southern Basketball began in 1975 as a player in our domestic women’s competition. From 1979 to 1993, she represented Sandringham in the first senior women’s team, while also competing in the daytime ladies competition. Along the way, she coached both junior domestic and representative teams, and even put up an incredible 77 points in a single domestic game.
In 1994, Lou stepped into a staff role as Customer Relations Supervisor, beginning a new chapter of service off the court. Over the past 32 years, she has played a vital role in shaping Southern Basketball into the community it is today. Her impact was recognised with Life Membership in 2005, a fitting tribute to her outstanding contribution.
Lou, your passion, dedication, and five decades of service have left a lasting impression on everyone who has come through our doors. Thank you for everything. You will always be part of the Sabres family.
Lou’s final day will be Tuesday, 28th April. Please join us in wishing her all the very best for the future.
